Abstract: The study focuses on changes in the system of children’s extracurricular education in the context of implementing the priorities initiatives of state policy. It is also focused on indicators of children’s coverage of extracurricular education programs, including technical and natural science programs. It was studied the participation in children’s extracurricular education according to age and territorial differentiation. The key factors that ensure the availability and quality of extracurricular education programs are evaluated. They are staff, infrastructure, and funding. The analysis is based on data from the Federal statistical survey of recent years.- The children’s coverage of extracurricular education programs has increased significantly in recent years. However, there are marked differences between urban and rural areas, as well as between regions.- The share of paid services increases.- The structure of the network of organizations that implement extracurricular education programs is changing: the number of extracurricular education organizations and their share in the total volume of services are decreasing, and the contribution of General education organizations is increasing.- The level of digitalization of extracurricular education organizations remains low. The number of organizations in need of major repairs is growing.- The share of specialists aged 55 and older, as well as employees with higher pedagogical education, is increasing in the number of teaching staff.
