Abstract: The paper is dedicated to the work of various vocational education and training (VET) systems during the COVID-19 pandemic. It covers measures that have been taken by different countries for provision of vocational educational programs in the context of coronavirus challenge. It’s based on data from CEDEFOP, International Labor Organization and UNESCO. Nine out of ten vocational educational organizations in the world were closed in spring 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The greatest readiness for the transition to the distance learning format was demonstrated by the VET organizations in Europe and Central Asia. The pandemic has exacerbated educational disparities. High-income countries actively used modern digital tools to organize distance learning. Poorer countries were more likely to limit their VET education to writing assignments and television broadcasting. The beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year is characterized by the widespread use of a mixed format of education that combines distance and face-to-face vocational education and training.
