Abstract:
This paper discusses the main problems teachers face in the vocational education system (VET) when working with students in the distance learning format. The analysis is based on a qualitative study of the best practices of digitalization, conducted as part of the Monitoring of education markets and organizations in 2020. The data presented make it possible to assess the nature and depth of the challenges facing educators in general and the VET system in particular and to identify ways to overcome them. Students' adaptation to the distance learning format occurred according to different scenarios. The critical factors of successful adaptation were personal qualities, character traits, and the presence of motivation. The perception of a high level of students' digital literacy is not always justified; the level of digital skills in different groups of students varies significantly. The most conservative subject of educational relations is students' parents. The evaluation system of educational results is in a crisis: formal evaluations do not reflect students' real knowledge. The most difficult problems are the lack of motivation and low involvement of students in the educational process.
