Abstract:

In this note we present a proof of the inequality H n / H ′ n ≤ G n / G ′ n where H n and G n (resp. H ′ n and G ′ n ) denote the weighted harmonic and geometric means of x 1 , … , x n (resp. 1 − x 1 , … , 1 − x n ) with x i ∈ ( 0 , 1 / 2 ] , i = 1 , … , n .
