A note on an unsteady flow of an Oldroyd-B fluid

C. Fetecau and K. Kannan

International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005, vol. 2005, 1-10

Abstract:

The velocity fields and the associated tangential tractions corresponding to the flow induced by a flat plate that applies a specified stress in an Oldroyd-B fluid are determined by means of Fourier cosine transforms. The solutions corresponding to a Maxwell, second-grade, and Navier-Stokes fluid appear as limiting cases of the solutions established here.
