Abstract:
A stochastic model of viral infection, incorporating both lytic and nonlytic effector mechanisms and subject to regime switching, is investigated in this paper. Using a stochastic Lyapunov function that incorporates regime switching, we establish sufficient conditions for the existence of an ergodic stationary distribution, implying the potential for persistent infection. On the other hand, we obtain sufficient conditions for extinction of the infection in different situations.
