A Review of Certain Modern Special Functions and Their Applications

Hala Abd Elmageed and Mohamed Abdalla

Abstract and Applied Analysis, 2026, vol. 2026, 1-12

Abstract: This review article comprehensively analyzes recent developments in the generalization of special functions (SFs) and polynomials via various fractional calculus operators (FCOs), focusing on the analytical properties and applications of extended Hurwitz–Lerch zeta, Wright, and hypergeometric functions. Additionally, it explores the formulation of Appell-type matrix polynomials and novel solutions for generalized fractional kinetic equations, highlighting the effectiveness of integral transformation techniques in applied analysis and theoretical physics.
