Abstract: The article discusses the participation of a racist party in Austrian government and the response of the EU Member States to this event. Is the political situation in Austria a European scandal or a mere normalisation of Austrian politics? Was the response of the EU-14 adequate? And who were the winners and losers of the socalled "EU-sanctions"?
