Abstract:
This paprer provides an extended probabilistic characterization of power indices (PI). The characterization incorporates private good PI's such as the Shapley-Shubik index as well as the public good index of Holler. Moreover, the paper defines two new public good oriented PI's. The results in this paper can be used as a guideline for choosing the appropriate PI.
