Abstract:
In this work we analyse the effects on fiscal policy effectiveness of different hypotheses on the perception of public expenditure by consumers in a double monopolistic competition framework. More precisely we study how the different specifications considered affect the values of fiscal policy multipliers –and especially the balanced budget multiplier-, the level of aggregate demand and the relation between the degree of monopoly power and fiscal policy effectiveness. In general we conclude that the different specifications studied affect considerably the results of this kind of models. Classification-JEL :
