Abstract:
The article generalizes the factors influencing the formation of socio-economic development of rural areas and the development of the concept of such development. Some aspects of state regulation of social and economic development of rural areas and directions of forming regional systems of Rural Development. Systematized scientific approaches and the concept of rural development and the degree of differentiation of rural areas by various signs. Carried out SWOT analysis of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats for social and economic development of rural areas in the present conditions. Grounded the measures on the use of innovation activities in accelerating socio-economic development of rural areas, and proposed the concept of socio-economic development of rural areas, based on the accounting functions of rural areas in particular: residential, economic, industrial, recreational, accommodation, environmental, resource.
