Commercial Fundraising in the Financial Support of Agricultural Production

Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the European experience of fundraising activities, including those related to the financing of agricultural production, as well as the identification of obstacles to its development in Ukraine. The term 'fundraising' is the latest in the lexicon of Ukrainian financiers means a wide range of investment services from consulting to the formation of specialized investment funds, the activities of which are beyond the norms of the Law of Ukraine 'On Collective Investment Institutions'. Based on the data of the European Association of private equity and venture capital and the Russian Venture Capital Association analyzed the functioning of the 'fundraising' funds in Central and Eastern Europe and the Russian Federation with a focus on financing agricultural production. The preconditions for fundraising activation in Ukraine are studied, in particular, focused on agricultural production, the main challenges are as well identified. The experience of creation inclusive business models as a promising type of fundraising is worked out, it is proposed to establish the fund specialized in investments in the agricultural sector on the basis of public-private partnership.
