Abstract:
In current conditions the main task of the government and scientific institutions is to create organizational and economic conditions for the effective development of the agricultural sector as the locomotive of the Ukrainian economy on the basis of unity of economic, social and environmental interests of society. The first step in this direction is to identify the key issues that determine the social and economic trends of agricultural companies, and to study their solutions. The article aims to identify and analyze social and economic trends in development of the agricultural sector of economy of Ukraine, to assess level of social orientation of agricultural companies. There is analyzed the changes in agricultural production and transformation of the structure of markets. There are showed the factors that hinder the development of agricultural economy. There are defined the principles and requirements to be met by social activity of agricultural company. There is found that despite the legally declared necessity for active participation of agricultural companies in solving the problems of rural areas, level of their social responsibility is extremely low.
