Abstract:
The aim of the article is analysis of approaches to assessing the economic efficiency of field fodder production to establish a complete list of indicators that characterize the feasibility and performance of agricultural enterprises' efforts to develop their own forage bases. General principles of determination methodology of economic effectiveness indicator are revealed. Analysis of scientific approaches was performed to determine system of indicators which can be used for evaluation of effectiveness of fodder production. The main factors affecting the efficiency of field fodder production are systematized. It is proven that the final effectiveness of field fodder production is expressed in terms of the result in the livestock industry. It is discovered that the use of resulting indicators of profitability for determining the effectiveness of field fodder production if its focus is directed at ensuring livestock production is inappropriate. At the same time, all other indicators of effectiveness inherent in other sectors of agriculture, such as environmental, social, can be used to evaluate the performance of the production of feed.
