Abstract: This research describes the current situation of the Bacanora’s industry in the state of Sonora. The industry produces a high alcohol content spirit drink, typical of the region, elaborated with a vegetal scientifically named Agave Angustifolia Haw. In this study, direct and indirect aspects were analyzed, identifying strengths and the opportunities this activity offers. The purpose is to design a proposal of an efficient value chain, that allows the upturn of this industry. Bibliographical research, profound interviews with the businesspersons and field visits to the rustic breweries with a defined formal process were realized, as well as semi-structured interviews to government officers and investigation centers dedicated to promote the endogenous development of the region through this activity.
