Abstract:
The detection of training needs allows for planning and preparation of personnel for successful completion of their work. The objective of this research was to detect the training needs of the operational personnel of a public institution of employment services located in the south of Mexico. The study is non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive. An adaptation of the workstation-employee method of Reza (2006) was used to detect training needs. This approach considers functions, indexes of efficiency and levels of knowledge required by the institution for the workstation. It also provides a description of the employee's performance. Training needs were reported mainly in time management skills and computer application management. We conclude that the literature does not fully address detection of training needs in organizations
