Abstract: This document analyzes aspects and repeated situations that affect security and image at the international border crossing points East, West and East Mexico Gate at the Tijuana, Baja California México/San Ysidro, California. We examine the United States border to specify the findings and proposals aimed at improving the perception of tourist safety within this border. Information is derived from the research project Promotion of image and tourist certainty at the international pedestrian crossing Tij/SY/Tij. This study provides an academic proposal by the Facultad de Turismo y Mercadotecnia de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC). We examine the need to create a permanent observatory in real time of the daily cross-border pedestrian crossing phenomenon. Over time, the experience of visitors, national and foreign tourist, as well as the community on both sides of the border develops different perceptions of image and security in the process of crossing to the United States or entering Mexico. This paper examines these perceptions
