Revista Global de Negocios, 2019, vol. 7, issue 3, 43-60

Abstract: Power in organizations can be manifested in a visible way through the formal organization through a hierarchical structure. Power can also be manifested through informal organization involving relationships of individuals without taking into account that hierarchical structure. For each case, the manifestation of power is an organizational problem, because it creates turbulent and low-dynamic environments that affect strategic objectives of the organization. In the case of the Military Institutions, it manifests itself to a greater extent due to its natural hierarchical structure, generating distance of power between subordinates and individuals of greater degree. From this perspective, Military Institutions face a problem of distance from power, limiting their capacity to generate new ideas within them. Thus, this research aims to perform theoretical approaches on power in Military Institutions
