Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to answer the following question: Is there a difference between the generic and disciplinary knowledge, skills and attitudes conferred by the University of Montemorelos and the demand in the labor market of the graduates of Accounting? The research was descriptive, transversal and field. The information was gathered online. Montemorelos University has about 1,200 graduates with Bachelor´s Degrees in Accounting. For this research a convenience sample of 150 graduates was chosen. Data collection utilized an instrument composed by 106 generic and disciplinary skills in the areas of knowledge, skills and attitudes. Significant differences in the generic knowledge given by the University of Montemorelos and the demand at the workplace were observed. Within disciplinary knowledge, no significant differences were observed. Likewise, in the generic skills, significant differences were observed and in the discipline, there were none. In both generic and disciplinary attitudes, no significant differences were observed
