Abstract:
Consumers are increasingly choosing to purchase services offered within a collaborative economy. Instead of using their own car, they prefer to travel in Uber or Cabify. They leave their pet in the care of Dog Hero, while they travel around the world and stay at AirBnB. To know the motivations of Mexican travelers when choosing to stay with an AirBnb host, a study was conducted with 330 adults. The findings indicate that the intention to rent lodging in this platform is affected by the perception of security of using an internet site to rent accommodations, as well as the level of confidence that the user has in the platform and host. A growing number of entrepreneurs choose to offer services and products on digital platforms. Our findings will allow them to identify areas of opportunity to improve relationships with potential clients
