Abstract:
In this study, a benchmarking approach is used to compare two institutions of higher education. Specifically, this study analyzes the Faculty of Accounting of Benemérita of Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) and the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco (UJAT). Mexico’s faculty development program (PROMEP) and Academy Body (AC) are analyzed and insights are provided to assist other institutions of higher education in developing quality certified academic bodies to compete and teach business and economics students in today’s global economy.
