Francisco Arturo Bribiescas Silva and Emmanuel Garcia Uribe

Revista Internacional Administracion & Finanzas, 2011, vol. 4, issue 2, 101-122

Abstract: Cutting edge technology can be found within plastics manufacturing operations. It is also common to observe relatively ineffective advances, which at the same time cause the technology being used to be less effective than expected. This causes administrative and planning problems. The objective of this article is to analyze the main factors and actual variables, which assist in productivity optimization of functional and operational management of tooling utilized in plastic injection machines, such as assigned molds and dies and developing an operational and practical route for planning and logistics. We state the problem, as well as key questions, and set out the objectives. Afterward, we present an analysis of the theoretical information in order to determine the factors and variables to be considered in a better explained proposal. Additionally, key recommendations and their rationale are provided for future research.
