Abstract:
In this article we examine if social capital factors such as trust, commitment, reciprocity and entrepreneurial culture similarities are present in the metalworking industry SME´s in central Coahuila, Mexico. We also identified which of these factors facilitate cooperation between SMEs and analyzed the relationship between these factors and inter-firm cooperation (CI). The results show that trust and similarities in business cultural environments are associated with inter-firm cooperation. The presence of trust, usually supported by family, friendships, and similarities in business culture, facilitates cooperation between small businesses.
