Abstract:
This study includes a research to analyze the contingency factors that influence the professionalization of family businesses in the services sector of Tijuana, BC, Mexico. It is important that the management of all family businesses it reach professionalization gradually, because in the beginning of their lifecycle their structures are simple, based on the owner, if they survive begin to formalize their organizational structure due to growth and looking at new departments, including hiring outside the family, with the management and decentralized decision making. To measure the levels of professionalization was taken states or organizational conditions as contingency factors, proposing a number of variables. To achieve the results have been carried out 245 surveys representing the owners of record in the Mexican Business Information System (SIEM), corresponding to Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. We performed statistical analysis of the data achieved, as a result it determines the profile of the owner/manager and the organizational structure of the family businesses in the services sector.
