Abstract:
Due to societies and the economy being dynamic, universities must develop methodologies to understand and interpret the labor, social and economic context; thus, make the pertinent periodic changes to their studies plans and programs. The objective of the investigation is to describe the professional development of Business Administration graduates from a Higher Education Institution in Mexico through the analysis of their graduates, comparing the data gathered during the time when they were in school, (1996-2008). The methodology for a study of this kind is of descriptive transversal non experimental type, using the questionnaire recommended by the Asociación Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educación Superior. The data was processed in SPSS 17.0 compiling statistics, frequencies and percentages. The results casted as the conclusion the graduate’s labor position, the satisfactory level of acquired knowledge in the Institution and its application in the workforce; as well as a general scenario of what the future graduates can expect, since an update of the studies plans cannot be done without taking into consideration social and economic realities, or the internal and contextual development of each country.
