Abstract:
Vast research exists with regard to Micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs). However, SMEs still need support when it comes to strategic- operational planning and development of alliances to improve their competitiveness. The Business Lab performs regional studies in the State of Coahuila that includes business diagnosis modeling, design strategies for change, design cooperative strategies for innovation provides virtual site to connect a company and a university. The objective of this work is to show the results achieved in the design and validation of the business model for SMEs. For the study, documental review, expert validation and a survey of 48 Laguna Region SME managers were conducted. The results show perceived similarities between running the business and the designed business mode. The business model allows the definition of strategies to improve the economic and social performance of SMEs.
