Abstract:
From the perspective of resources and capabilities theory, firm and entrepreneur factors are strengths that can be used to create and implement strategies to achieve economic success of firms. This article analyzes the relationship between firm and entrepreneur factors and the economic success developed by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the central region of the state of Coahuila, Mexico. The methodology consisted of obtaining quantitative information and applying a structured questionnaire to a sample of 130 SMEs in the region. The data information obtained was processed with SPSS statistical software using Cross Tabs and Spearman correlation coefficient. Among the most important results is the fact that entrepreneur factors have no association with economic success, except in the education level obtained. It was found that, at a 95% confidence level, there is a positive relationship of 0.222 with growth in investment in machinery and equipment. The analysis also shows that most company features are associated with the economic success of small businesses.
