Abstract:
The premise exists that places the relationship between universities and the labor market, as one important component relevant to education. Through a self-administered questionnaire, we examine the views of business domiciled in six municipalities in the state Chiapas, Mexico. We characterize professional market managers and accountants, and develop indicators to use in curriculum updating processes. The results show that over 80% of organizations surveyed have less than 100 employees, mostly engaged in trade and often hire managers (21%), accountants (26%) or both (48%). Basic knowledge managers must relate to personnel management, administrative and marketing. They must be skilled in: willingness to constantly learn, make decisions and package handling. Meanwhile, accountants should know: financial accounting, fiscal and administrative processes. They should be skilled in: software management, making decisions and finding solutions. In both, the ideal age to hire is between 25 and 30 years must pass an interview and a knowledge test, with work experience of 1-3 years, to offer salaries that are between 3 and 5 times the SMG.
