INFLUENCE ANALYSIS OF FAMILY CRAFT WORKSHOPS IN MEXICO, ANALISIS DE LA INFLUENCIA FAMILIAR EN LOS TALLERES ARTESANALES DE MEXICO

Abstract:
Artisans produce objects of cultural identity and tradition transmitted from generation to generation. The work is performed using pieces of handicrafts by members of the same family. This transcendent feature is subject to analyze from the perspective of economic and administrative sciences. The objective of this work is to understand the family influence Mexico craft workshops. The sample was composed of 48 workshops belonging to five States of the Mexican Republic inside which are Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Coahuila, San Luis Potosi and Zacatecas. We study the family in small enterprises to identify key aspects to achieve production or keep in the local market. Family influence was measured through the sub scale culture composed of 12 questions taken from the instrument Family-Power, Experience and Culture. The results show that loyalty, family values and support towards the enterprise explained 63,997% of the extracted variance. We conclude that in the analyzed craft workshops analyzed; loyalty and family values have influence in the business according to the perception of the owners of the workshops.
