Abstract:
The literature indicates the role of innovation in the performance of business organizations is critical, influencing aspects such as competitiveness, profitability and knowledge management. This work focuses on analyzing the relationship between barriers to innovation and knowledge management in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) manufacturing, identifying the significance of interrelationships between these variables through a Structural Equation Model (SEM) and the corresponding analysis for each of the scales used reliability. For this study, a sample of 150 SMEs in the manufacturing sector of the State of Aguascalientes, Mexico, was considered. The results provide empirical evidence that the only barrier to innovation representing human resources has a negative influence on knowledge management in the companies studied.
