Abstract:
We live in a global society where the only constant is the transformation of institutions, canons and paradigms in the society. This research shows how, in spite of the changes in the social norms that regulate the individual behavior, the concept of family is still rooted in the Mexican culture. This concept can impact the dynamics and continuity of the family business. We carried out documentary interdisciplinary research. Additionally, a survey was administered to 184 persons with ages varying from 18 to 24 years. The results show that despite the social changes that took place in Mexico, the familiar network still is considerably extensive and complex. The idiosyncrasy that Mexican’s foster respect to family, can impact the family business. The family can exert good influence in the family business. The aim is to manage such influence with the objective of preserving the corporate heritage as well as support and employment of the next generations
