The Reflection on Western Evolution of the Right of Personality

Abstract: In the period of ancient Greece and the ancient Rome the sprout of the right of personality appeared. The modern renaissance, enlightenment, religious reform contributed to the formation of the modern civil law, and the rational personality can be established. On the basis of above, modern western legislation of rights of personality has different paradigms, such as France, Germany and Switzerland. Although the protection modes of all countries are very different, the idea of equal protection of personality are the same.
