Status of Corporate Governance Awareness in Bangladesh

Abstract: The aim of this study is to portray the status of awareness among Bangladeshi people. Six major characteristics- Rule of Law, Transparency, Responsiveness and Participation, Consensus oriented, Equity and inclusiveness, Accountability, Effectiveness and efficiency have been threaded to quantify different aspects of the complex concept of Corporate Governance. Study identified significant variance in different segment of the society. Inconsistency is also due in relation to different characteristics of the concept. As a new born nation unawareness is in tolerance level but this status is not satisfactory.
