Hotel Property Development Model for the Saudi Hospitality Sector

Abstract: This paper presents and discusses successful hotel property development model for Saudi hospitality sector. The model is based on the challenges facing the hotel property developers and the success factors of hotel property development in Saudi Arabia as identified by 19 real estate development companies who have developed hotel properties and involved in hotel operation. The challenges and success factors have been identified through face-to-face interviews with these 19 specific real estate developers. These developers have already developed hotel properties and involved in the operation face in Saudi Arabia. 26 success factors have been identified in the interviews with the development directors and/or vice presidents of investments of the 19 developers. These 26 success factors together with the related available literature have been used to propose a successful hotel property development model for the Saudi hospitality sector.
