Merrick Boone: Operational Agility Emerging Amidst COVID 19 Pandemic

Abstract: The main purpose of this case is to highlight agility and adaptability practices in supply chain management that many companies had to employ during and after the Covid 19 pandemic. This case revolves around a multinational company having to examine alternatives to the just-in-time system when managing inventory for production and shipment of orders to customers. Ismail Hussain works for the multinational corporation with operations in Bangladesh and he must negotiate with suppliers who are experiencing shortages and the demands of the productions managers and the customers. He must make decisions while adhering to the government requirements during the pandemic and consider making changes that will be beneficial to the operations in event of future global events that may cause supply chain disruptions. Utilizing advancements in technology for inventory management and forecasting the company made changes to its supply chain management.
