The Importance of Religious Orientation in Managing Stress

Abstract:
The study analyzes the academic stress among students. It aims at investigating the effectiveness of religiousorientation in managing stress among them. The sample consists of 218 bachelor’s degree students in Malaysiauniversities. The data were collected from stressful situations questionnaire, role strain measures, and Intrinsicand Extrinsic orientation. Frequency analysis was used to examine level of stress, strain, and religiousorientation. The results indicated that students experience moderate level of stress, strain, and religiousorientation. However, a significant means difference in the perception of male and female students toward thestudy variables.
