The IUP Journal of Agricultural Economics, 2008, vol. V, issue 1, 24-34

Abstract: Oilseeds are the second largest agricultural commodity after cereals in the state of Andhra Pradesh (AP), and technological change is one of the crucial factors in determining the agricultural growth exclusively of the oilseeds. A drastic change has been taking place in oilseeds production after the intorduction of green revolution/Technology Mission on Oilseeds (TMO). Groundnut is the most important oilseed crop in AP. The present study attempts to estimate the effect of new agricultural technology on oilseeds production in the state with the help of the Cobb-Douglas Production Function. The results show that technology is a major determinant in groundnut production in AP.
