Global Economic Integration: A Case Study of Euro and its Implications for India

Abstract: The article mainly deals with European Union and its association with the European community. Since its inception on January 1, 1993, many steps taken were creating a European common market and brought in the benefits of an enhanced market competition. It covers issues related to business and industry, like invoicing and pricing, risk monitoring and hedging, effect of rupee, dollar-rupee risk diversification, macro-environment, forecasting and budgeting, re-convention and re-denominating, corporate- size and business strategy. It also critically examines the progress made by the European Union towards a true integration, apart from providing the summary and concluding remarks.
