A Systems View of Market Operations The Role of Perceptions
Dilip Dasgupta
The IUP Journal of Financial Economics, 2004, vol. II, issue 4, 47-60
Abstract:
The article presents a birds’ eye view of the markets in operation, the role of demand and supply determinants, cross-market impacts and the role of perceptions. The author feels that since actions, reactions, responses and adjustments by various entities in the market depend on the study of actual developments and perceptions regarding their impacts by several players and regulators simultaneously, the actual outcome is uncertain, as the situation again changes, with fresh developments, before these forces have had time to play out their impact fully.
