The IUP Journal of Public Finance, 2008, vol. VI, issue 4, 72-78
Abstract:
The paper examines the response of inflation, wheat price changes and changes in the purchase quantity of the government. The study was conducted in Turkey, based on the secondary data collected from the Turkish Grain Board, Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey. The study shows that there is a significant relationship between inflation and changes in wheat prices. It is suggested that the government should take structural measures such as increasing the level of wheat yield and technological improvement to tackle the issue of wheat price inflation.
