Measuring Fiscal Performance of Orissa Using Composite Index Model

Abstract: This paper is an attempt to study the fiscal performance of Orissa using composite index model. Constructing the Orissa composite fiscal performance index for a study period 1990-91 to 2008-09, it is observed that, the best performance year for the state was 1990-91 and worst performance year was 2001-02. The performance has deteriorated from 1990-91 to 2001-02 but after 2001-02 the state started to recover and is observed to be performing well.
