Abstract: El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer en qué grado la investigación académica española se ocupa de temas relacionados con la Dirección y Gestión de Organizaciones de Servicios. Para ello, se realiza una exhaustiva revisión bibliográfica de más de 1800 artículos publicados en una muestra de revistas académicas españolas sobre Administración y Dirección de Empresas (período 1996-2002). Los resultados nos han permitido conocer, entre otras cosas, el número de publicaciones realizadas sobre el tema en cuestión, autoría de las mismas, subsectores y áreas funcionales sobre las que versan, etc., dedicando además una especial atención al área de Operaciones. / The aim of this paper is to know in what degree the academic Spanish research is concerned about the Management of Service Organizations. For this, during the period 1996-2002 an exhaustive bibliographical review was compiled of more than 1800 articles published in a sample of academic Spanish reviews about Management. The results have allowed us to know, among other things, the number of publications realized on the management of service organizations, authorship of these, subsectors and functional areas on which were stated, etc., dedicating in addition a special attention to the Operations Management.
