Abstract: The essence of the informal sector of the economy and the risk of its occurrence are discovered in the article. The volume of the informal sector of the economy in Ukraine is calculated. The role of the informal sector of the economy in narrowing the financial basis for ensuring the competitiveness of the national economy is opened.
