Analysing, systemising and generalising scientific works of many scientists the article considers definition of state support. In the result of the study the article marks out that certain specific features of the branch influence possibilities of introducing innovations in agriculture. Innovation in agricultural production requires preliminary assessment of its influence upon the agrarian fund, biological assets, etc. Due to these factors the risk of introducing innovations is higher in agriculture.
