Abstract:
The goal of the article is to determine directions of modernisation of economic education by means of the use of the potential of development of priority professional competences. To achieve that it is necessary to solve the following tasks: 1) to consider professional competences acquired in the process of education; 2) to compare them with the requirements of the labour market to professional competences, which provides a possibility to see directions of a possible development of an educational establishment. The article used results of a questionnaire survey of graduates of economic faculties and results of monitoring of labour market for marking out possible directions of modernisation of economic education based on development of: 1) competences connected with informing society (skills of work with specialised software, work with data arrays and processing and analysis of digital information); 2) competences connected with mastering oral and written communication (paper work, conduct of trainings, conduct of written communications with local and foreign partners, well-bred speech and conduct of negotiations). One of the main tasks of a university lies in development of the graduates' ability to adapt to changes of the external environment for which it is necessary to develop analytical thinking, communicative skills, capability to listen and convince, to show interest in something new, availability of instrumental knowledge which form the concept of learning to work in situations, which are close to the real life, are the basis of modernisation of economic education and point out directions of further studies.
