Abstract: In the article authors' position to the formatting of the integral indicator of the relative proportions of the public sector in Ukraine is substantiated. The volumes of presence of this sector within the national economy in general and in the context of economic activities are investigated. The main problems that led to the reduction of quantitative parameters of entities in the public sector of the economy of Ukraine are identified.
