Abstract: The article identifies content of main approaches to the "strategic analysis" notion, systemises interconnections of strategic analysis with analysis and management, formulates content of main characteristics of strategic analysis, which additionally argue its independence among functional spheres of an enterprise. Application of theoretical provisions of development of strategic analysis would give a possibility to identify main directions of development of methodical provisions and organisation, and this, in its turn, would ensure a higher level of complexity and scale of research of activity of economic subjects.
