Abstract: The article analyses modern tendencies of direct foreign investment into the industrial sector of Ukraine, considers dynamics of direct foreign investments, studies the sectoral structure of direct foreign investment and builds a common structure of direct foreign investments (DFI) by types of industry. It justifies importance of attraction of DFI into industry for ensuring competitive development of the Ukrainian economy and studies main problems of receipt and distribution of foreign investments into Ukrainian industry, namely: neglect of problems of investment activity for a long time at the state level, slowing down investment processes in the world, low level of crediting industrial production on behalf of international financial organisations, unfavourable investment and business climate in Ukraine, high level of inflation and shadow economy and also inefficient system of consumption of natural resources.
