Abstract: The article conducts analysis of ecological and economic problems of the Carpathian region. It considers ecological and economic mechanisms of realisation of the concept of stable development of the Carpathian region. It justifies urgency and importance of active and effective inter-oblast ecological and economic co-operation in the territory of the Carpathian region. It assesses the ecological situation and shows that a considerable anthropogenic transformation of landscapes and major environment pollution is characteristic for all oblasts of the Carpathian region.
