Business Inform, 2014, issue 2, 342_347

Abstract: The goal of the article lies in identification of a methodical approach to selection of the investment strategy of banks on the basis of factors of its formation with the use of the hierarchy analysis method. Factors of formation of the bank's investment strategy were identified in the result of the study. The article demonstrates that selection of the investment strategy of the bank could be efficiently realised on the basis of the hierarchy analysis method, which is the most popular under conditions of a multi-criteria assessment of the search for optimal solution of the set task. The article offers a hierarchical structure of decision making, which could be a basis of selection of the bank's investment strategy with consideration of the institutional flexibility. The prospect of further study in this direction is development of an optimisation model of the bank's investment portfolio with consideration of not only institutional, but also market flexibility of decision making.
